TSPN to establish a formal Secretariat
Grant from the World Bank's Development Grant Council will contribute core funding for staffing of the TSPN Secretariat and additional intiatives
The World Bank's Development Grant Council has agreed to provide a multi- year grant to enable the creation of a Secretariat for the TSPN and facilitate the implementation of upcoming TSPN activities. The initial grant period will be from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009. The Secretariat will be hosted by GTZ at their Eschborn, Germany headquarters. By hosting the Secretariat at GTZ the TSPN will benefit from collaboration with the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development, access to additional resources from the German Government, and strong linkages to many of the pioneering activities of GTZ .
Recruitment has begun to hire two professionals to run the TSPN Secretariat. One of these will be a Network Coordinator and the other a Knowledge Management Coordinator.
