New Members on Board

TSPN welcomes ITC, STDF and ICRAF as new Members of the Network

The first to join the Network was the International Trade Centre (ITC) in March this year. Its main aim is to enable small business export success in developing countries by providing trade development programs to the private sector, trade support institutions and policymakers. The TSPN is looking forward to fruitful collaboration. Further information about their work and projects can be found following this link.

 

The Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) became a Member of the Network mid of May. It is a joint initiative in capacity building and technical cooperation aimed at raising awareness, enhancing coordination and mobilizing resources in the area of food safety, animal and plant health (known as Sanitary and Phytosanitary or SPS ) standards. The TSPN is very proud to welcome the STDF and is looking forward to contributing to the upcoming STDF Workshop “Assessing Costs, Benefits and Impacts of Compliance with Agriculture, Forestry and Food-related Standards” in Geneva, 30 October 2009.

 

The World Agroforestry Centre ( ICRAF ) is the latest to link up with the TSPN. It is part of the alliance of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) centers dedicated to generating and applying the best available knowledge to stimulate agricultural growth, raise farmers’ incomes, and protect the environment.
