Welcome to the Spring issue of the TSPN Newsletter! This Newsletter aims to provide you with quick and regular information on key activities and news related to the TSPN network, its members and other standard-related actors, with a particular emphasis on voluntary sustainability standards. It further gives you a short overview of upcoming events and recent publications.
With March 1, 2010, the new coordinator of the TSPN has started work at the Secretariat. Dr. Johann F. Moltmann has been working in public relations for an industry association and thereafter in the environmental risk assessment for chemicals, pesticides and pharmaceuticals, as well as in capacity building on standards and regulatory affairs in Eastern Europe and Africa. ISEAL Consultation period: Impacts Code
The ISEAL Alliance is leading the development of a Code of Good Practice for Assessing the Impacts of Social and Environmental Standards Systems in order to answer the question of how the impact of standards can be measured. The consultation period for this Impacts Code is from 1 March 2010 until 30 April 2010.

FiBL and IFOAM publication: The World of Organic Agriculture 2010
The German Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) and the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) presented the latest statistics on organic agriculture world-wide at the World Organic Trade Fair BioFach 2010 in Nuremberg. The results of the study are compiled in the book The World of Organic Agriculture: Statistics and Emerging Trends 2010.

New ILEIA's educational series: Learning AgriCultures
The Centre for learning on sustainable agriculture (ileia) has initiated the Learning AgriCultures series explaining the principles behind productive, sustainable small-scale farming. It consists of seven modules dedicated to understanding small-scale (family) farming and how it can become more sustainable.
