Governance

The TSPN’s governing body is the Steering Committee (SC).

The SC functions as the decision-making body, undertakes the strategic planning of TSPN and appoints the Chair and the Vice Chair. The SC is comprised of representatives from core members and regional/ national organizations from developing countries.

Currently, the SC encompasses representatives from the following member and donor organizations:

  • United States Forest Service (USFS) - Chair -,
  • United Nations Conference on Trade And Development (UNCTAD) - Vice Chair -,
  • The World Bank - Donor -,
  • Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH - Donor -,
  • Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) - Donor -,
  • Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO),
  • University of Guelph / Institute for Development Studies,
  • International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), and
  • International Social Environmental Accreditation and Labelling Alliance (ISEAL),

The Secretariat is hosted by the core member GIZ in Eschborn, Germany, and works as the coordinating body of the TSPN.

Beside the day to day activities, the Secretariat deals with membership applications, coordinates the implementation of activities and working groups and the Steering Commitee and Member Meetings.
