The project activities covered the following three main areas of interventions: Institutional Capacity Building; Enterprises Creation Programme; and Enterprise Upgrading Programme. A core team was trained as trainers in enterprise creation and enterprise upgrading, initially in India and subsequently in Yemen. The team then initiated the two programmes with international experts' support in the first round. The second round of the programmes is underway.21 potential entrepreneurs attended the NEC programme; 14 business plans were prepared, 5 enterprises established, 6 advanced stage of implementation. 15 enterprises participated in the Upgrading Programme; 3 enterprises upgraded, others being upgraded. Second round of Enterprise Creation and Enterprise Upgrading Programmes is currently under implementation.The General Investment Authority (GIA) agreed to host the Enterprise Development Unit
