Promoting marketing infrastructure reform in Zambia to meet standards requirements

The Agricultural Development and Market Diversification Project marketing infrastructure component is helping Burkina Faso compete effectively on the fresh product export markets that require adapted and efficient logistics and post-harvest treatments, particularly cold chains, and strict compliance with the more and more stringent consumer requirements in terms of standards, quality and safety. Project interventions in this area will thus consist of: (i) upgrading or rehabilitating existing commercial infrastructure; (ii) building new facilities, already identified as required and vital to compete on the international markets; and (iii) building medium-scale infrastructure that will be identified under project implementation in the framework o f the elaboration of the Strategic Development Plan (SDP) by the targeted supply chain.
