Reducing technical barriers for entrepreneurship and trade
The objective of the Technical Regulation component will be to strengthen the capacity of the public sector to develop the new technical regulation framework based on the Law on the Fundamentals of Technical Regulation.The objective of the metrology and standards component is to strengthen the capacity of the National Institute of Standards and Metrology (NISM) to perform its functions. Accreditation and Quality Enhancement Component: As part of its technical regulation and standards reform, the Kyrgyz Government is planning to spin-off the accreditation function from NISM and set up an independent internationally recognized accreditation scheme compliant with international standards and thus capable of assessing and accrediting conformity assessment bodies according to international standards and best practice.
