Objective: Increase the productivity and sales of 10,000 smallholders and entrepreneurs in the Legumes sector by mobilizing farmers, increasing their access input supplies, improve the supply chain management for processors. Results: 4,000 groundnut farmers organized in western Kenya— Launching a farmer-owned grain marketing company (Kenya Smallholder Farmers Investoment Co. (KESFIC workplan in place - elected board, hired managers, bank account; buy 500MT of groundnuts from our organized farmer groups in August/September. 15 MT of groundnut seed purchased from seed farmers and distributed to smallholders. Identification of processing companies for value addition activities.
