Promotion of enterprise and entrepreneurship programs in Swaziland
Objective: To support and strengthen entrepreneurs and SMEs, build sustainable local capacity, including financial institutions, to support entrepreneurs and SME . These goals will be met through Business Plan Competitions, leveraging the Development Credit Authority to provide small grants and low interest seed loans, and technical assistance to entrepreneurs in promising industries. Results: TechnoServe is providing technical assistance to twelve compaines in high potential industries (pineapple, flowers, swine, sugar, honey, etc), and has engaged two local banks participating in the Development Credit Authority to increase their impact. We have also launched Believe Begin Become-Swaziland," a business plan competition with proven success in other countries.
